“Bayaning Third World” is a post-modern text because it attempts to unravel Rizal’s significance in today’s culture not through the conventional way of referring to the past, but considering other views, especially the views of those who try to scrutinize his heroism. The movie considers many realities. Notably discussing “what-if’s” through its course. In addition, it tries to incorporate modern concepts to the historic events in Rizal’s life. Throughout the movie, there is a clear disappearance of boundaries that exist in a normal film; it breaks “the fourth wall”, which isn’t done in most films. It also slices up different ideas and present them in a random way. Overall, “Bayaning Third World” embodies the concepts of postmodernism and uses it to examine the true and accepted heroism of Jose Rizal.

I announced during your long exam that you will not have a final exam. I’m still in the process of checking 340 exams and papers, so please be patient. Although I did not promise to release a standing, I will try my best to release your partial grade by the end of the week.
